Seattle is Made For Romance - 3 Seattle Activities to Make Your Love Light Burn Bright
By Steve Schulman
If you're looking for a romantic getaway you can plan your next vacation in Seattle Washington.
Even if you're romantically challenged, there are so many romantic Seattle activities you'll find it hard not to be inspired to do something romantic in this great city. And it's not reserved for Seattle nightlife. Romance is in the air here 24/7.
Now it does rain half the time in Seattle. And that's a perfect excuse for cuddling under an umbrella. This city is made for love!
Woodland Park Rose Garden
So you're cuddling, maybe holding hands - head over to the Woodland Park Rose Garden where the admission is free but the scents and the scenery are worth millions, especially if your date is a flower lover.
Wineries and Breweries
What goes with flowers? Wine sounds like a good match. So why not go to one of the several vineyards around Seattle that offer daily wine tours? They all end in a wine tasting.
It's a lot of fun and you can get to know each other's likes and dislikes when it comes to the fruit of the vine.
If wine's not your thing but you love beer, there are several breweries and microbreweries in the area where the two of you can sample beers, relax and talk.
Either way, if tastings are new things for the two of you, it's a great way to strengthen your relationship - even early on.
Hot Air Ballooning
If you really want to impress your date you can book a hot air balloon ride from May through September.
One company to call is Over the Rainbow. Reserve a sunset flight.
This is not one of your standard Seattle activities. It's not any regimented Seattle nightlife comprised of going to Seattle dance clubs or Seattle concerts. No way. You're floating and going wherever the wind takes you.
So you're now airborne. You'll spend a romantic hour aloft drifting effortlessly over the picturesque Samamish Valley. If you went on a wine tour to Chateau St. Michelle or Columbia wineries or sipped some suds at the Redhook Brewery you were in Samamish Valley.
You'll soar at different heights, sometimes just grazing the tops of trees, other times you could be as high as 1,500 to 5,000 feet. From up there you'll enjoy romantic panoramic views of the Seattle skyline and you'll easily spot the world-famous Space Needle.
After the flight the two of you will enjoy some light Italian cuisine, featuring food from the Golden Goat Italian Restaurant in Woodinville. You'll dine on rustic bread, a fresh garden salad, pasta and seasonal fruit and enjoy a selection of Italian wine, beer, Italian sodas, mineral water and coffee. And it's all included in the cost of your romantic evening flight.
And no need to worry about getting back. A "chase vehicle" follows your hot air balloon. It will take you back to where you started.
I hope you enjoy these romantic Seattle activities. While some are for Seattle during the day and one's for Seattle nightlife you can spread them out or do them one after the other. Whatever way you enjoy them you'll sure to savor the sweetness of romance in the air.
